Motorcycle accident on All Saints Road claims life of young Grays Farm woman, while male companion is seriously injured

Another family is mourning the loss of a young member, after a serious traffic accident occurred on Sunday night, November 13, on the All Saints Road.

Annika Lawrence of Grays Farm has become the country’s 10th road fatality for 2022.

Lawrence reportedly was the passenger on a motorcycle being ridden by a 28-year-old male from Bendals, and both were flung from the bike when the driver lost control.

It is reported that the pair were travelling from east to west on the roadway when the tragic incident occurred, shortly after 11 p.m., in the vicinity of the Belmont Clinic.

The two were seriously injured as a result of being thrown from the motorcycle and were rushed to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre by the Emergency Medical Services.

However, in spite of efforts to save her life, Lawrence, 22, reportedly succumbed to her injuries shortly after 1 a.m. on Monday, November 14.

Reports say the Police are probing the accident, which some persons allege might have involved speeding.

A number of the woman’s friends and co-workers took to social media to express sadness and shock at her tragic death, recalling her outgoing and loving nature.

This incident comes just over a week after the death of an American University of Antigua (AUA) student, Kenneth Matthew, who was struck by a vehicle on the Friars Hill Road on Sunday, October 23.
