Industrial action continues for fourth day, as Solid Waste haulers await word on their money from Management
With stray dogs dragging piled-up bags of garbage up and down the streets, waste-haulers attached to the National Solid Waste Management Authority continued strike action at the Cooks Sanitary Landfill for a fourth consecutive day.
In the presence of their union representative, Hugh Joseph, the haulers met yesterday morning with the Authority’s General Manager, Daryl Spencer.
REAL News correspondent George Wehner has been following this development since it broke on Monday, and relates an incident that occurred at the start of yesterday’s meeting.
The union rep says the workers made it known that they had reached the threshold of no return.
Spencer, meanwhile, attempts to explain the organization’s failure to meet its obligations.
