Potter says she is working to help reduce the high unemployment in Rural South, especially among young people

The high unemployment rate in St. John’s Rural South – and across the country, in general – is of concern to Gladys Potter, the United Progressive Party (UPP) Candidate for that constituency.

The rate of unemployment is reported to be above 20 percent and is impacted by the number of hotel workers who have been out of work since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Potter is very concerned about the high percentage of Rural South youth, in particular, who are desperately in need of a job. She is worried that the continued rise in the cost of living will have a negative mental and emotional impact on these persons.

The UPP Candidate says she is doing everything in her power to assist constituents who are seeking employment to find work, and has she devised a programme in this regard.
