Antigua and Barbuda’s athletes continue to excel on the regional stage and, this time, have reaped success in Martinique.
The contingent of athletes won eight gold and nine silver medals.
In the Boys U-17 4x100m race, the team ran away with gold; and in the 4x400m Mixed Relay, the team copped the silver medal.
CARIFTA gold medalist Dwayne Flemming led the charge, picking up four medals: two individual golds in the Under-17 Boys 100m and 200m, as well as another gold in the 4x100m. He earned a silver medal in the 4x400m Mixed Relay.
Other medalists included Geolyna Dowdy; Osei Gardiner; Alssya Dyett; Mia McIntosh;
Zody Roberts; Cleo Joseph; and Kasiya Daley.
The Antigua and Barbuda Athletics Association is extending its appreciation to all the athletes and coaches who represented the country in Martinique over the weekend.
“Job well done; you represented and competed with pride and the results show,” the Association says.
