The late Truehart Smith remembered as the ultimate professional and a class act

Former Commissioner of Police Truehart Smith continues to be remembered as an ultimate professional and a man of class.

Smith, who served the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda for several decades, died on Friday night, May 27, in the Cayman Islands, where he was receiving medical treatment.

A resident who says he knew the former top cop personally describes him as a stern but fair officer in ececuting his duties.

Another resident says that Smith was what legends are made of, adding that “no one can walk in his shoes.”

Before his elevation to the highest position on the Force, Smith served in many other positions, including as an instructor at the former Police Training School, now the Sir Wright George Academy, in the late 1960s.
