Man accused in West Bus Station stabbing incident turns himself in to the Police accompanied by his attorney

The Police are now questioning a man in connection with the stabbing incident that took place at the West Bus Station last Tuesday, May 3.

In a press release that gives an update on the incident, STRATCOM reports that Michael Jonas, 25, of Bendals, is currently in custody, assisting with investigations.

Jonas reportedly surrendered to the Police at around 8:30 a.m. today, May 10, after being sought for almost a week. He was accompanied by his attorney, Wendel Robinson.

Jonas is accused of injuring a fellow fisherman and the owner of the vessel on which he was working at the time.

The 42-year-old victim, a resident of Golden Grove, was transported by the Emergency Medical Services to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury.

Jonas is alleged to have used a sharp object – suspected to be a spear gun – to wound the man in the chest.
