Prime Minister Browne answers Opposition Leader Pringle on WIOC CEO’s conflicting statements

Prime Minister Gaston Browne is attempting to justify Tuesday’s increase in fuel prices and explain a statement made by Gregory Georges, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the West Indies Oil Company Ltd. (WIOC).

During a recent radio interview, the CEO assured the public that there is a six-month supply of fuel stored at WIOC’s Friars Hill tank farm.  However, on Monday, March 14, he stated that only 300,000 gallons of the commodity belong to the company, which is majority-owned by the people of Antigua and Barbuda.

In Parliament on Tuesday, Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle questioned Prime Minister Browne about Georges’ conflicting statements.
