Free testing for COVID-19 available on Friday under joint venture between Ministry of Health and private facility

Persons wishing to get tested for the COVID-19 virus will have an opportunity to do so free of charge on Friday, February 18, under the COVID-19 Test Pop-up initiative.

This venture is a collaboration between the Ministry of Health and MOS Medical Services.

Smith-Kellman says that a similar event was recently conducted at the Grays Farm Clinic; and, based on the turnout for this event, the Ministry will decide whether the time frame for testing should be extended.

Regarding testing fees for public-sector workers, Smith-Kellman says the exercise has always been done for free once the person is showing symptoms of the disease.

She adds that free testing of vaccinated persons can be accessed at any of the main public clinics across the island. However, only unvaccinated, asymptomatic public-sector workers and students will be tested at the Villa Polyclinic.
