Ministry of Health reports another virus-related fatality, taking COVID death toll to 135

Ministry of Health officials are reporting one new COVID-19 related fatality at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre. The death toll from the virus has now moved to 135.

Out of 561 samples processed over several days, the Ministry’s latest dashboard reports 53 new confirmed infections as of Monday, February 14. Seven of the cases were recorded on February 10; 14 on the 11th and 12th; and 18 on the 14th.

Therefore, the number confirmed cases in Antigua and Barbuda stands at 7,395. There are now 80 active cases with 79 in isolation and one hospitalized.

Five hundred and fifty-four persons recovered from the virus during this period.

Meanwhile, 60,963 people have been inoculated, while 2,529 have been partially vaccinated.

Ministry of Health officials are still encouraging residents to take a vaccine, as it prevents serious ailment and hospitalization.
