Day Two of strike and haulers say they will not be fooled again by Solid Waste Authority’s General Manager

Haulers with the National Solid Waste Management Authority continued their industrial action today, Tuesday, February 8, at the Cooks Sanitary Landfill, demanding to be paid all of the money theye are owed.

At 12:30 p.m., the drivers were still on site, patiently waiting for an 11 a.m. meeting with management and their union, according to reports from REAL News correspondent George Wehner.

Up to that time, Wehner reports, they had had no word from any entity on whether their demand for payment would be met.

However, the haulers – contracted by the Authority to collect residential waste – say they are determined not to work until they are paid … and in full.

Further, they say, they are not prepared to resume work under the Authority’s General Manager, Darryl Spencer, whom they accuse of having deceived them.
