Fundraising breakfast gives donors another opportunity to help Aldo McCoy access life-saving operation post-COVID

Aldo McCoy is getting set to host his last fund-raising activity ahead of his departure next Tuesday, December 7, to seek medical help overseas.

McCoy, who spent over 80 days on a ventilator at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, is now in urgent need of a life-saving operation to help him breathe.

To raise funds, a breakfast is being held tomorrow, December 4, on Anchorage Road by the Yorks Village corner.

McCoy tells us about the event.

McCoy says that things are progressing ahead of his trip and with regard to his fundraising initiatives.  The Cabinet has made available  $10,000 to assist with his medical expenses, and McCoy is grateful for the help.

A GoFundMe page has also been set up to raise money for the cause since McCoy has not been able to work since February 2020.   Therefore, he has no  health insurance at this time.  The money raised will help to defray the expense of his trip, surgery and subsequent recovery.

An appeal is still being made for persons to donate whatever they can afford.
