UPP’s Sean Bird bemoans lack of attention to Rural East constituency, where pandemic has worsened living situation

The St. John’s Rural East constituency is in dire need of attention, says Sean Bird, who will be contesting that seat on the United Progressive Party (UPP) ticket next election.

The sitting parliamentary representative is Maria Browne, wife of the Prime Minister; but Bird says the constituency has been neglected for some time, and there is urgent need for infrastructural work.

Further, he says, neither the elderly nor the young is being given the attention required.  Bird admits that their circumstances were not as bad before the pandemic, but the situation has worsened since.

In spite of limited resources, the UPP has been doing all it possibly can to improve the lives of persons living in the constituency, Bird says.
