Virus hospitalizations continue to fall while new infections remain low, latest dashboard confirms

The country’s latest dashboard is showing that hospitalizations have fallen from 16 to 11 patients, with active COVID-19 cases remaining at 114, in spite of six new infections.

However, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rhonda Sealy-Thomas reported to the Cabinet, on Wednesday, that the number of persons hospitalized with the virus is now down to nine.

The Ministry of Health says the new cases are for Monday, November 8, and were realized from 71 samples processed at the hospital.

Officials recently reported that there was a total of 105 COVID-19 related deaths, and Sealy-Thomas reports that all the recent fatalites were unvaccinated persons.

The total number of lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda now stands at 4,102.  Twelve people have recovered since the last dashboard, increasing that total to 3,889.

Meanwhile, 52,689 individuals have been fully vaccinated while 5,808 have received their first dose.
