Body of female discovered inside burned Cassava Gardens house; Police investigating cause of death

Police are investigating the discovery of a body, said to be that of a middle-aged Hispanic woman, which was found inside a burnt house in Cassada Gardens this morning, November 10.

According to reports, Fire Department officials and Police officers responded to the scene of a fire on Holly Road, Cassada Gardens, at which the woman’s body was found inside the partially burnt two-storey wooden dwelling.

The corpse was found after the blaze was extinguished.

Fire fighters are investigating the cause of the fire, while the Police are trying to determine  whether the woman’s demise was caused by the blaze or the inferno was being used to cover up another crime.

After the district doctor pronounced the body dead, it was removed to a local funeral parlour shortly after 7 a.m.

A post mortem will be conducted  on the body.
