Saturday-night road accidents send three persons to the hospital, with one in serious condition after Bolans crash

Three people – one in a serious condition – had to be rushed to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre on Saturday night, November 6, after they were involved in separate road accidents.

A man is nursing serious injuries after crashing into a utility pole in the Bolans area.  Reports are that he lost control of his vehicle and had to be removed from the mangled wreck by fire officers, who deployed the Jaws of Life to free him.

That incident, recorded and widely circulated on video, reportedly occurred at about 10 p.m.

Meanwhile, just over an hour later – at 11:10 p.m. – a male and a female got into an accident on the main road in Coolidge.

Reports are that the male lost control of a rented Toyota Vitz motor car and careened into a wire fence before he rammed the back of a parked Toyota Hiace bus, which tipped over.

Further reports say that both vehicles then tore through another side of the fence.

The driver and the female passenger sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police are investigating both collisions.
