Drug bust at V.C. Bird International nets cannabis finds valued at more than a half-million dollars

The Police have made yet another drug bust at one of the country’s ports of entry, this time to the tune of well over a half-million dollars.

Reports are that the lawmen seized over 120 pounds of cannabis at the V.C. Bird International Airport last week during an operation between them and the Customs Department.

Further reports are that on Friday, October 8, several vacuum-sealed packages of the controlled substance were detected among two separate shipments at the cargo shed.

One parcel weighed 95 ½ pounds, while the other weighed at 25 ¼ pounds, with both carrying an estimated street value of $724,500.

The drugs were taken to Police headquarters and investigations into the discovery are ongoing.
