GOSPEL ARTISTES AND GROUPS, TOGETHER WITH MEDIA HOUSES, TO BE RECOGNIZED IN LOCAL AWARDS CEREMONY

So Arise, a production company, is getting set to put on its annual “Antigua and Barbuda Gospel and Media Awards”.

Director and Founder Stanshaw Cornelius, who appeared on the Good Morning Sass Show on Monday (June 14), tells us about the event.

Cornelius says voting has commenced and persons now have the opportunity to select their popular gospel groups or artiste and media personalities in Antigua and Barbuda and the rest of the region, even internationally. There is also a category for media houses as well- online, print and electronic.

Voting can be done at www.soarisemusic.com/vote2021. The official date for the staging of the event has not yet been announced.

Last year’s event was held virtually in October due to the COVID-19 pandemic and not in May as was the norm. However, Cornelius says it turned out better than expected.

The “Antigua and Barbuda Gospel and Media Awards”, Cornelius’ brainchild, was started in 2015 with the first event being staged at the Multi-Purpose Cultural and Exhibition Centre. Cornelius says “it has been quite a bit of a journey since then…” and seven years later the event is still going strong
