SUNDAY-NIGHT ACCIDENT IN COOLIDGE SEES CAR SLAMMING INTO HOUSE AND BURSTING INTO FLAMES; NO CASUALTIES RECORDED

A male driver is lucky to have escaped serious injury after his car ran into a house in Coolidge and then burst into flames.

Police are now investigating the cause of the accident, which occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 27.

Reports are that the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran into the property’s perimeter fence before slamming into the verandah of the concrete house.

A neighbouring resident tells REAL News that, having heard the squealing of tyres, he automatically braced for the impact; and he speculated that the accident was the result of a race gone wrong.

A video of the incident shows the vehicle engulfed in flames, and the front end is said to have been completely destroyed by the blaze.

A fire tender was dispatched to the scene and, fortunately, was able to extinguish the fire before it caused any damage to the residence. No one from the home sustained any injuries.
