The Ministry of Health is reporting eight new lab-confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus, bringing the country’s total to 1,209.
The most recent dashboard, released yesterday, April 14, confirms that 76 samples were processed at the Mount St. John Medical Centre, from which the positive cases were revealed.
These infections reflect data from Tuesday, April 13.
Active cases remain over 200, with 231 persons now infected by the sometimes-deadly virus.
Of these active cases, Health officials say that four are hospitalized, with two being severe and two showing mild symptoms. Two hundred and twenty-seven (227) people are in isolation.
Meanwhile, since the public vaccination programme recommenced on Tuesday, 560 people have received the jab. They bring the total number of people vaccinated, to date, to 27,592.
