Virus Deaths Now Number 22 as Elderly Man Succumbs on Saturday

Yet another death has been attributed to COVID-19, bringing the country’s recorded total to 22.

This time, the Director of the Mount St. John Medical Centre (MSJMC), Dr. Albert Duncan, has confirmed the death of an 87-year-old male.

Dr. Duncan says the patient had underlying medical conditions and died at the hospital on Saturday, March 6, at about 7p.m.

Several elderly patients have passed, of late, with most of them suspected to have been residents of the Fiennes Institute.  However, in a media outing last Friday, Health Minister Molwyn Joseph claimed not to know the exact number of fatalities coming out of the institution.

The old-age home was recently reported as the site of a cluster of infections among both residents and employees.
