Bathlodge man, 33, fatally struck by machine at Bendals quarry; Police ask operators to be extra careful on the job  

The Police have launched investigations into the death of a 33-year-old
Bathlodge man.

Allegedly, the man was struck by a heavy-duty machine at a quarry in Bendals
on Friday, June 7.

He was transported by the Emergency Medical Services to the Sir Lester Bird
Medical Centre, where he was later pronounced dead.

A press release from the Police Communications Department – STRATCOM –
confirmed that officers were on the scene inquiring into the circumstances
surrounding the death and that further details will be provided as the
investigation unfolds.

Meanwhile, the Police are also appealing to operators and contractors to be
extra cautious when operating heavy-duty equipment on job sites. They
should always ensure proper safety measures are in place at all times, the
authorities say.

The Police administration is extending condolences to the man’s family as
relatives try to cope with this tragic loss.
