Another youth arrested and charged for possession of a gun and ammunition reported stolen by a licensed firearm holder

Another youth will be appearing before the Court charged with gun and
ammunition possession, according to a release from STRATCOM. The Nelson
Street resident has also been charged with larceny of the firearm and
ammunition.

Accordingly, Nickquan Valarie, 21, will make his first court appearance in the
St. John’s Magistrates Court on Tuesday, May 28.

Reports say that, last Friday, May 24, Valarie was arrested after a search
warrant was executed at his home and the illegal items were found and seized.

While searching the young man’s residence, the lawmen stumbled upon the
stolen 9 mm firearm and 12 matching rounds of ammunition. It is alleged that
the weapon was stolen from a licensed firearm holder, while he and the
accused were working on a farm in Orange Valley.

A report of the theft was made to the Police, which prompted the search of his
home, where the weapon was recovered. Valarie was subsequently charged.
