Plans for Labour Day celebration should be completed just after Convention wraps, UPP chair says

Preparations are underway for the United Progressive Party’s
annual Labour Day celebrations at Ffryes Beach, Party
Chairman D.Gisele Isaac confirms.

Isaac says the planning is being undertaken simultaneously
with preparations for the Party’s 12th Biennial Convention,
which is slated to run from April 14 to 21.

She says the aim is to be in the end stage of Labour Day
planning by the time the Convention is done.

Isaac adds that the Labour Day Committee has been tasked
with ensuring the beach is clean and the shrubbery on the
landside area is properly pruned.

The UPP chair expects there will be food and drink in
abundance, as the event typically attracts numerous vendors.
In addition to stage performances for the adults, she says that
the customary Kids Zone, featuring the bouncy castle and fun
games, will be on offer.

The entertainment is a collaborative effort between the Party
and the Antigua and Barbuda Workers’ Union.
