Break-in at High Street bar and restaurant nets thief a little more than $600

A businesswoman was the target of thieves who broke into her
lower High Street business and made off with EC and US currency
from the cash register.

Reports say the incident was reported to the Criminal Investigations
Department (CID) by the Hodges Bay owner of Rum Runners Bar
and Restaurant.

Apparently, an intruder broke into her business between 5 p.m. on
February 7 and 10 a.m. on February 8 and stole EC$100 and US$200
in cash.

Reportedly, the perpetrator gained entry into the establishment
through a western push-up window by using a hard object to break
the glass.

The person then pushed open the window, entered the building, and
removed the money from a cash register that was on the floor in a
western office.

Investigations into this incident continue.
