Police impersonators rob woman of Toyota Vitz, while gunmen relieve two other victims of their vehicles in separate incidents

Three robberies occurring within an eight-hour period are being
investigated, including one in which a Cassada Gardens woman was
robbed by persons posing as police officers.

A source says that two of the robberies occurred simultaneously but
in separate areas.

In the first instance, the female victim telephoned the Criminal
Investigations Department (CID) and reported that she had been
robbed of her white Toyota Vitz, in which she carried her ZTE
mobile phone, by men dressed in police uniforms.

Reportedly, this offence occurred in Cassada Gardens at about 3:45
a.m. on December 31.

Further reports say the woman was driving from east to west on
Hawkins Drive when she was stopped by three unknown men. They
were dark in complexion and of medium height, and were wearing
police uniforms and carrying what appeared to be guns in their
hands.

The impersonators approached her demanding money, then pulled
her out of the vehicle and drove off in an eastern direction.

Meanwhile, as this robbery was taking place, a Gunthorpes man was
also being robbed at his home. A report of the incident was made to
the Parham Police Station by his sister.

She says the 43-year-old victim had just arrived home, from a bar in
Seaview Farm, and was pounced upon by the robbers shortly after
entering his two-bedroom wooden house.

Reportedly, he had just sat down on his bed when he heard a
banging on the front door; and when he got up to see who it was,
two masked gunmen opened the door and entered the bedroom.

According to the report, the men told him to lie on the floor, after
which they searched his pockets and relieved him of $200. They
then ransacked his bedroom and stole an additional $3,000 in cash.

Finally, the intruders took the key to the man’s gold Honda CR-V,
registration No. A67267, and fled in the vehicle in a westerly
direction.

One of the robbers reportedly was dressed entirely in black and is
about 5 feet 9 inches in height; reportedly, he spoke with a Jamaican
accent. The other man was shorter and dressed in blue jeans and a
blue hooded shirt.

A search was carried out in the surrounding areas for the stolen
vehicle and the assailants, but without success.

In the third incident, a man reported to the CID that he had been
robbed of his white Toyota Noah van, registration number C21756.

This offence reportedly occurred on Old Parham Road, at about 7:30
p.m. on December 31.

Reports say the victim had parked his vehicle and gone into a
Chinese restaurant to purchase food. However, when he went back
to his van and sat in the driver’s seat, he saw the passenger door
being opened.

He reportedly looked up and saw a man, dressed in black, pointing a
gun at him and demanding, “Give me the key.”

The victim, apparently confused, claims he asked the gunman what
was going on, and then he saw another young man coming to the
driver’s side of the vehicle.

As a result, the victim says he ran from the vehicle and up Old
Parham Road.

The Police carried out a search for the stolen vehicle, but, again,
without success.

Anyone with information about these three incidents is asked to
