Tiny Supermarket owner reports Gambles resident to CID for bouncing cheques worth $1,750

An alleged fraud perpetrated against a Chinese businessman is being
investigated by the Police.

The Fort Road owner of Tiny Supermarket reported the alleged
fraud to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), claiming that
a Gambles resident had made several purchases, amounting to
$1,750, at his business place and paid with three ACB Caribbean
cheques.

However, after the cheques were deposited into the business’
account, all were returned by the bank for insufficient funds.

The Gambles man therefore had committed fraud by issuing the
cheques while knowing he did not have sufficient funds on his
account to cover the value of his purchases.
