MBS stages last fitness challenge for the year this Saturday; Charles-Williams says pros and amateurs are all welcome

Everything is in place for the Medical Benefits Scheme’s walk, run,
and ride fitness challenge, set for tomorrow, Saturday, November 4,
organizers say.

Dr. Janelle Charles-Williams, the Scheme’s communications and
marketing manager, says the event will be challenging and fun at the
same time.

She says she knows that those who have taken part in consecutive
fitness challenges over the years are ready to go. Therefore,
Charles-Williams is encouraging persons who have never taken part
in the activity to come out this weekend and pack in some exercise.

The activity moves off from the Scheme’s Nevis Street office and will
end at Ffryes Beach. There will be a second starting point from the
Christian Valley area for those who are unable to manage the longer
route.

Charles-Williams says the activity is for newbies and professionals,
as well, and will be the last physical-activity event put on by the
Scheme for 2023.

The communications and marketing manager is again stressing the
importance of having an exercise regimen in residents’ daily lives.
She says being active should be a routine for everyone, even if it
means 15 minutes of stretches at home.
