Police identify dead man found in car Thursday morning as Rolston Joseph and confirm his death is a homicide

As the Police probe the country’s ninth homicide for 2023 – the
killing of Rolston Joseph – the public’s assistance is being sought.
Joseph’s lifeless body was discovered on Thursday morning,
November 2, inside a damaged vehicle, between the T.N. Kirnon
Primary and Antigua Grammar Schools.

In a press release concerning the incident, the Police report that
they received a notification at around 7:05 a.m., and detectives from
the Serious Crimes Unit (SCU) went to the location to conduct
investigations.

They confirmed that Joseph was found, slumped, in a white vehicle
carrying the licence plate A 27771, with what appeared to be
multiple wounds to his body.

The lifeless body was clad in a pair of dark blue shorts and a red-
and-white shirt.

The Police are asking anyone with information surrounding this
incident to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-
3913, or call the Crimestoppers hotline number at 800-Tips (8477).

Reportedly, the vehicle in which Joseph’s body was found bears
evidence of bullets having been fired and has scratches all over it. It
also sustained damage to its front end, where the hood is dented,
and the rear bumper is also ripped.

The damage to the front might have been caused by the victim
driving through a fence in the vicinity of the T.N. Kirnon School on
Old Parham Road and ending up against a vendor’s booth nearby.

It is assumed that the man was trying to get away from his
assailants, as his right leg was on the driver’s seat while his body lay
slumped on the passenger side, with his head tilted toward the floor
of the vehicle.

The passenger door was open, with a portion of it showing damage,
while a cell phone appeared to have been placed on the dead man’s
body.

Onlookers who happened upon the crime scene speculated that the
man could have been shot elsewhere and was fleeing; but since he
could drive no farther he ran off the road and into the fence.
