DeFreitas says he will not give up on his plans to redeem neglected City South and its people

Franz deFreitas says his work to develop a neglected St. John’s City
South is continuing, as he wants the best for the constituents.
DeFreitas, the United Progressive Party (UPP) caretaker for that
constituency, has been engaged in a number of capacity-building
initiatives, many of which focus on youth development.

He is of the opinion that sitting MP Steadroy “Cutie” Benjamin is
selfish and does not care about people – except for using them;
allegedly offering inducements on the eve of an election; and then
forgetting those who elected him.

While Benjamin has been the City South parliamentary
representative for over three decades, deFreitas charges that he has
done nothing meaningful there.

The constituency is in a decrepit state, and certain areas of the city,
which sits in City South, actually stink.

Meanwhile, deFreitas has been engaged in several activities to
change the outlook of the constituency and its people.

He has instituted projects such as Youth LEED and offers CSEC
classes to young and older students alike.

Now, the UPP caretaker has a plan to develop the constituency
within the city limits, where people work and tourists come to shop.
He says he will not give up on his undertaking to provide better for
the constituency and its residents.
