ARG security officer falls victim to three men involved in stick- up; police investigating report

The Police continue to investigate an assault on a security guard,
reportedly carried out at the Antigua Recreation Ground (ARG) by
gunmen.

Reports say the man, a resident of No. 3 Cassada Gardens,
complained to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) that,
while he was on duty at the ARG, he was assaulted by three
unknown men.

This offence reportedly occurred at about 3:15 a.m. at the Old
Parham Road location.

Reportedly, the man was sitting inside his motor van on the western
side of the compound, when the three strangers came up to him.

One man allegedly placed his arm around the security officer’s neck
and said, “I know you, Man; ah ma boy.”

At the same time, he placed his other hand in the guard’s pockets in
search of anything of value and then proceeded to search the
victim’s vehicle.

Meanwhile, one of the other men went around to the passenger side,
which was locked, while the third man lifted his shirt, showing the
butt of what appeared to be a black gun.

He then confirmed to the security guard that the object was, in fact,
a gun.

Reportedly a man who was in close proximity saw what was
happening, went over to the area, and inquired what was going on.

The three men then fled from the area, in a southerly direction, on
foot.
