House-breaker awakens Bolans woman whose shouts interrupt his search and send him fleeing

A Bolans woman thwarted a burglary at her home after she awoke
to find a strange man in her bedroom.

Reports say the woman was fast asleep, at about 3:21 a.m., when she
heard a noise. When she opened her eyes and saw the unknown
man, she shouted at him and he ran from her bedroom, through her
living room, and out the front door.

The woman immediately telephoned the Bolans Police Station and
made a report.

Officers visited the scene and observed that a western bathroom
window – which was closed, but not locked – had been used by the
intruder to enter the house.

However, in the process of searching the woman’s bedroom, he was
startled in the when she awoke and thereafter fled the scene.

A search was carried out in the area for any suspicious person but
without success.

The matter is still under investigation.
