A shipment of marijuana valued at just over $100,000 was seized at
the V.C. Bird International Airport during a recent drug-interdiction
operation.

On Monday, July 31, the Police and the Customs Task Force
conducted the exercise, which netted 21 pounds of cannabis
carrying an estimated street value of $126,000.

The search was undertaken at the LIAT Cargo Shed, where two
cardboard boxes with the illicit drug were found.

The controlled substance was seized and taken to the police station,
as further investigations into the matter are carried out.
