Party Monarch 2023 finalists are named, with Claudette ‘CP’ Peters coming out of retirement to defend her Groovy title

The finalists have been selected to take part in this year’s 2023 INET
Jumpy and Groovy Party Monarch competitions.

The Jumpy finalists are: Soca Villain, Menace XL, DJ Who, Kimmy,
Royalty, Raiine, Zamoni, and Empress.

The reigning Jumpy monarch is Lyrics Man.
The Groovy finalists, selected following the semi-finals competition,
are: Tammy, Zamoni, Empress, Queen Thalia, Menace XL, Blade,
Young Lyrics, and Vicious.

Some notable and popular artistes whose names do not appear in
the competition line-up are Tian Winter, Ricardo Drue, Super Mario
and Naycha Kid.

Soca diva Claudette “CP” Peters had announced her retirement from
the competition after last year’s contest.

However, after her fans and other persons flooded social media with
calls for her to compete, she has decided to return to the Party
Monarch stage. Therefore, Peters will be defending her crown in the
Groovy segment of the competition.

Months ago, she released “Nat U,” which has been a hit with the
public. If she retains her title, it will be her 11th crown in the soca
arena.

The competitions – traditionally forming the biggest show of the
season – are set for Sunday, August 6, beginning at 8 p.m., at
Carnival City.
