Mother reports that boys forced teen girl into sex act; residents wonder if alleged assault was gang-initiation ritual

A 15-year-old girl reportedly was forced into a sexual act with a
group of boys, and the Police are now investigating the incident. 
Reports say the alleged victim’s mother took her to the Special
Victims Unit and complained that the girl had been forced to
perform oral sex on the young males.

Officers reportedly interviewed the teenager in the presence of her
mother and were able to obtain certain information on the offense,
which allegedly occurred at about 9:30 a.m. on June 13.
Of late, several violent crimes involving youth have been reported,
and the Police have said the perpetrators might be part of an
organized crime ring run by adults.

However, some people are speculating that the alleged assault on
the teenaged girl was part of a gang initiation.

Meanwhile, as residents continue to criticize the Police and accuse
them of being unable to properly fight and solve crime, National
Security Minister Steadroy Benjamin claims that a new forensic lab
will be made available to law enforcement shortly, and this will help
with solving criminal cases.
