Old methods of protest are no longer working, says MP Watts, so the people need to get radical with the Government

Algernon “Serpent” Watts is calling for pickets, not only at the Office of the Governor-General, but at every event he attends.

His call follows Sir Rodney Williams’ response, on May 26, to the United Progressive Party’s letter and petition for a public inquiry, what is being described as further legalities.

The United Progressive Party began a series of pickets, outside Government House, today, Tuesday, May 30, which will continue until Friday, June 2, in the first instance.

Watts, the parliamentary representative for St. George, observes that the former methods of protesting issues do not appear to be effective any longer. Therefore, he says, the time has come to get radical and force the Government to respect the people’s wishes.
