Police Commissioner condemns recent daylight rape and says the Force will pursue perpetrators of such disrespect to women

A recent brazen daylight rape is being condemned by Police Commissioner Atlee Rodney.

In a press release, Rodney says he strongly denounces the barefaced act against the woman on Monday, May 15, and emphasizes the unwavering dedication of law enforcement to apprehending the culprits.

“We are taking those things seriously because that should not have

happened and we do not want it to happen,” the commissioner said.

According to Rodney, law-enforcement officials will be pursuing all possible leads in this case to bring the perpetrators to justice.

He adds that the Police Force will pursue anyone who tries to disrespect the female population in such a manner.

Rodney says this type of offence is very distasteful, and the Force is dead serious about going after individuals who abuse women in this way.

The woman allegedly was raped and robbed by a group of young men while she was walking just off the Friars Hill Road at 4:40 p.m.

The report on the incident led to widespread outrage and condemnation.
