Sources claim that Cassada Gardens shooting of man and toddler involved a police officer, now under investigation

The Police are investigating the circumstances which led to a toddler and an adult male being shot, with both of them now nursing injuries at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, but in stable condition.

Reports say the two-year-old girl and her father were wounded in their lower limbs during what is described as a domestic dispute in Cassada Gardens, on Sunday night, March 19.

It is alleged that, at about 10:45 p.m., the father went to the child’s home, where he met another man – who, sources tell REAL News, is a police officer.  The two had an altercation, during which the officer  reportedly brandished a firearm.

It is alleged that the father made attempts to take the weapon away and, during the struggle, he and the child were accidentally shot.

According to confirmed reports, the father later handed the firearm over to the police.  It is reported that the alleged firearm owner is assisting officers with investigations into the matter.
