Investigation will determine whether former cop succumbed to injuries from accident and whether driver should be charged

The Police are continuing to investigate a 2022 traffic accident that claimed the life of a former officer in order to determine whether charges will be proffered against the driver.

Reports are that James Clarke, a recently retired police inspector, succumbed to injuries he sustained during the accident in November last year.

Further reports say that Clarke died in the hospital on Wednesday, February 8, three months after he was struck by a vehicle in the Five Islands area while taking his morning walk.

The Police now have to determine whether the motorist will be charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Once it has been officially determined that injuries from the accident caused the retired officer’s demise, then charges, most likely, will be laid.
