Gas-station proprietor Bernard Percival is shot and robbed of undisclosed sum; injuries are not life-threatening

The Police are on the hunt for the man who robbed and shot Ambassador Bernard Percival on Tuesday night, December 13, moments after he arrived at his Paynters home.

Reports are that the businessman and former Labour Party politician is being treated for gunshot injuries to the foot, which are not considered life threatening. Percival reportedly was shot twice during the robbery.

Further reports say the lone armed assailant accosted the gas-station proprietor after he arrived home, sometime after 9 p.m., and  fled the scene after relieving him of an undisclosed sum of money.

The Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact the nearest police station or the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at 462-3913.

Business operators and home-owners have been the target of thieves and robbers over these past several months.  These incidents usually intensify during the Christmas season.
