Public urged to order Xmas cards from 12th Antigua Girl Guides; funds raised will be used to build group’s permanent home

The annual Christmas-card initiative of the 12th Antigua Girl Guides is underway.

This year, in addition to general Christmas cards, customers can also have their greetings personalized, says Samantha Simon, a member of the organization.  And she urges that cards be ordered now, so they can be prepared in time for the holiday season.

Simon says the funds raised through this venture will be used to construct a Guide hut, which will be a permanent home for the group and where the girls can be fully engaged in guiding activities.

She says, at present, meetings are held at the St. Luke’s Anglican Church; and, while it is an amazing location, it does limit the number of activities that can be done with the girls.

Meanwhile, Simon is reporting that two fundraising initiatives held earlier this year were successful and the public’s support was overwhelming.
