Health Ministry receives donation from the People’s Republic of China and locals hope it will be spent on the healthcare system

Many residents are expressing the hope that the over half-million Eastern Caribbean dollars donated to the Ministry of Health by the People’s Republic of China will, indeed, be used to improve some aspects of the country’s healthcare system.

The Ministry of Health recently received a donation of $540,700, which reportedly will be used to procure medical supplies.

H.E. Mme. Zhang Yanling, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Antigua and Barbuda, presented the cheque to Sir Molwyn Joseph on Monday, October 31, at the Ministry’s Headquarters.

Sir Molwyn thanked the Chinese Government for the donation, while noting that he looks forward to the continued partnership between both countries for the betterment of the people of Antigua and Barbuda.
