VACCINATION NEAR THE 30,000 MARK, WHILE FIVE NEW VIRUS INFECTIONS ARE RECORDED FROM LATEST BATCH OF SAMPLES

While the Ministry of Health is reporting that close to 30,000 persons have been vaccinated, the country has recorded five new COVID-19 infections.

This information was released on Thursday night, April 22, and represents figures from Tuesday, April 20.

These recent cases were realized following tests conducted at the Mount St. John Medical Centre, which processed 268 samples.  

Consequently, the total number of persons with lab-confirmed cases is 1,222, with 196 currently active.  Four people remain hospitalized, with one considered to have moderate symptoms and the other three mild infections.

Meanwhile, 590 vaccines were administered to persons at the four centres across the country on Thursday, April 22.  These bring the number of persons to have received the jab to date to 29,754.
