To arrive at a system that is fair to all, UPP Leader advocates for open discussion with the people on tax policies

A system in which all residents pay their fair share of taxes towards the upkeep of the country is the preference of the United Progressive Party (UPP).

At present, many people are dissatisfied with the level of tax concessions – and, in some cases, exemptions – being granted to the wealthy, especially when the high cost of living is having such an impact on the poor.

To address this, the Political Leader of the UPP says there needs to be a greater degree of consultation on the way forward. Harold Lovell says the people need to be involved in a transparent and open discussion on taxation and fiscal policy

He says that a fair system must be developed through which everyone pays according to their means.
