Causes of three sudden deaths to be determined by post mortems, while relatives of deceased Jamaican woman being sought
The Police continue to probe three sudden deaths in which foul play is not suspected, the most recent incident having occurred on Monday, in Parham.
The body of a female villager was discovered in her yard at about 1 p.m. on September 19, and lawmen are investigating the circumstances of her death.
Reports claim that the woman – said to be in her 50’s – was last observed hanging out laundry.
However, after not seeing her for several hours, persons reportedly became concerned and went to check on her, at which time the grim discovery was made.
Meanwhile, arrangements may be made to fly the body of a 63-year-old Jamaican man back to his country of birth, since he has no known close relatives living in Antigua and Barbuda.
The man’s body was found at about 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 18, by the caretaker of the Ottos Basketball Court, and it was pronounced dead by the district doctor at around 11 a.m.
Reports say the deceased – who reportedly did not have a fixed address – had been seen at the complex the day before, September 17.
The Police have said they do not suspect foul play in this case.
Meanwhile, 55 minutes after the Jamaican man was pronounced dead, the body of a second man was found – close to Don’s Barber Shop on Bishopgate Street. The corpse was discovered at about 11:55 a.m. on Sunday.
Reportedly, the Police were initially unable to identify the man, since he had no form of identification on his person, although he was believed to be in his 60s or early 70s.
The circumstances surrounding his death are still unclear.
A source says the body was taken to the government morgue due to certain administrative issues with the funeral homes.
Post-mortem examinations will have to be conducted on the bodies of all three persons to determine their exact causes of death.
In the meantime, a friend of the woman whose decomposing body was found in a lower Gambles apartment in late August is asking for help to find relatives of the deceased.
In a Facebook post captioned “Urgent, Urgent,” the person identifies the deceased as Dion Winniefred McLarty of Portland, Jamaica.
The friend says that McLarty has no relatives in Antigua and Barbuda, and therefore there is no one to bury her – apart from the Government.
A photo of the woman was shared online, along with another post that included the bio page in her passport.
