Absconding Pares Village man apprehended by the Police in Old Road after ignoring Wanted Bulletin appeal

Tony Henry, who was wanted by the Police in relation to gun- and ammunition-related offences, has been captured and is now in custody assisting with investigations.

After a Wanted Bulletin was issued on Tuesday, September 6, the 30-year-old Henry was apprehended by lawmen at around 8 a.m. on Thursday, September 8, in Old Road.

He had been advised to turn himself in at the nearest police station but apparently had ignored the request.

Reports are that the Pares Village /Collins area man had escaped from a vehicle that was intercepted by members of the Special Services Unit and Defence Force soldiers during a stop-and-search operation in the John Hughes-Wallings area on September 4.

Henry fled from his car after seeing the lawmen, leaving a modified flare gun and several rounds of ammunition, as well as a quantity of cannabis, inside the vehicle.

Investigations are ongoing.
