Senator Lewis targets 700 Rural West children for receipt of back-to-school supplies this year and thanks his donors

The sixth annual Back-to-School Supplies Initiative put on by Senator Richard Lewis is now underway.

Every year, the United Progressive Party Candidate for St. John’s Rural West distributes school gear to children in the constituency.

Lewis says he is delighted to continue the initiative in 2022 – especially at a time when parents are struggling through economic challenges – and notes that the supplies are being distributed on a needs basis, targeting approximately 700 children.

The UPP Senator says, “I am indeed grateful for another opportunity to give back to my community.” However, he acknowledges that the programme is made possible through the generosity of Alexandrina Eudelle, Stafford Lewis, Maria Sharon Martin and a number of local donors.

He adds that special mention must also be made of Tenice & Allie Enterprise for its assistance in this venture.

Meanwhile, several other UPP Candidates engaged in similar initiatives prior to the reopening of school on Monday, September 5, including Pearl Quinn-Williams in St. John’s Rural North.
