Twenty-four new COVID-19 infections recorded over five days, Ministry of Health report, with same number of active cases

As the country proceeds fully into the Carnival season, the Ministry of Health is reporting 24 new COVID-19 infections, as of Wednesday, July 20, with that number also reflecting the active case count.

Officials say that five of these cases were recorded on July 14; seven on July 15; four  on July 18; five on July 19; and three on July 20. These were realized from a combined 475 samples processed at the hospital.

There are no hospitalized cases, and over this period 25 recoveries were recorded.

The new total for lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda is 8,736.
