Cannabis valued at over $800k seized at Airport Customs Warehouse

Another successful drug-interdiction exercise is being reported by the Police, during which 110 pounds of cannabis were seized at the V.C. Bird International Airport on the weekend.

Reports are that police officers, including members from the K9 Unit, and the Customs Task Force, carried out the operation at the airport’s Customs Bonded Warehouse.

One brown E-Container cardboard box was discovered with 55 transparent vacuumed-sealed bags weighing 110 pounds. Reportedly the cannabis carries an estimated street value of $880,000.

Following the operation, the cardboard box, along with its contents, was taken to Police Headquarters pending further investigations

This exercise was conducted at about 5:40 p.m. on Sunday, June 12.

The Police are reporting that, so far this year, they have seized a total of 638 pounds of cannabis, mainly at the country’s two main ports of entry. These seizures carry an estimated street value of $3,739,260.

No arrests have been reported, to date.
