Dashboard confirms another COVID-19 death, taking fatalities to 139, and 28 new infections

Another COVID-19 related death has been recorded, bringing the country’s total virus fatalities to 139.

Health officials say the death was recorded on June 5. While they did not disclose vaccination status or gender, other sources confirm the deceased was an elderly man.

Meanwhile, the most recent report received from the Ministry of Health reveals there were 28 new lab-confirmed cases of the virus as of Tuesday, June 7, out of 83 samples processed at the hospital.

There are now five hospitalized cases, down from the eight reported on the last dashboard, none of which is severe, and 133 recoveries were recorded over that period. 

Total lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda now stand at 8,406, inclusive of 115 active cases.
