Lovell admonishes residents to collect Voter’s ID cards and to register, as PM Browne hints at early elections once again
The Political Leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP) is admonishing residents to collect their voter-identification cards, as Prime Minister Gaston Browne is again hinting at early polls.
General elections are constitutionally due in March 2023; but this is not the first time Browne is dropping such hints.
In the meantime, the Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) has complained that there are hundreds of uncollected cards at its office and has requested, several times, that they be collected.
Now, Harold Lovell is reminding eligible voters that without this card – which he terms their “weapon” – they will be unable to get rid of the Browne Administration.
Further, the Political Leader is encouraging persons who are eligible, but who have not yet registered to vote, to do so, since it is their democratic right.
